Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how MiraFolio (“we”, “us”) handles information in the official MiraFolio applications for iPhone, iPad, Android and Windows (collectively, “the App”), and on mirafolio.app (“the Website”). Features and data handling differ by platform as described below.

The short version: MiraFolio does not require an account and never sells your data. Your photos stay on your device unless you explicitly use an optional service such as AI tagging or Apple iCloud sync. The iPhone, iPad and Android versions use limited Firebase Analytics for product reliability; those events never include photos, filenames, folders, tags, AI credentials or free-form text. The Windows version does not include analytics, a cloud account or wallpaper uploads. The Website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics for aggregate traffic and performance measurements.

2. Mobile App Analytics

The iPhone, iPad and Android versions use Google Firebase Analytics to understand feature reliability and improve the App. Firebase may process the App version, operating-system version, device category, language or region, general session and network information, and identifiers associated with an app installation or device vendor. An IP address may be processed in transit, including to derive approximate geographic information.

The mobile apps send only a predefined set of product events and categorical values, including photo-permission state; the feature, tab, wallpaper-source or automation type being used; success or failure of wallpaper, archive, restore, import and Wi-Fi transfer actions; coarse count ranges; and Pro screen, product selection, purchase or restore outcomes.

Analytics events do not contain photos, image content, filenames, photo metadata, album or folder names, tags, automation names, AI prompts, API endpoints or keys, email addresses, or other free-form text. Advertising identifiers and ad-personalization signals are disabled. We do not use analytics for advertising or cross-app tracking. Firebase is operated under Google's Privacy Policy and applicable data-processing terms.

3. Information We Do Not Collect

MiraFolio does not ask you to create an account and does not collect your name, phone number, contacts, precise location or advertising identifier. We do not operate a server that receives or stores your personal photo library. We do not sell personal information or share app analytics with data brokers or advertising networks.

4. Website and Website Analytics

The Website is hosted by Cloudflare and uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure aggregate page views and performance, including Core Web Vitals. We use these reports to improve the Website. The Website does not use advertising trackers or cross-site profiling. Cloudflare processes network and analytics data under its Privacy Policy.

5. Photo Access and Local Folders

On Apple platforms and Android, MiraFolio requests photo access only to read the albums or selected photos you choose, display them and provide wallpaper images. Supported systems let you grant full or selected-photo access. The App may request permission to add photos when you export or save transferred images. You can change access in system Settings.

On Windows, MiraFolio reads only folders you select for wallpaper rotation. It stores local indexes and cached image dimensions to avoid rescanning large libraries. It does not upload those files.

6. Private Album on Mobile

The mobile versions offer a Private Album whose photos are stored inside the App's sandbox instead of the system photo library. Access can be protected by Face ID, Touch ID, Android biometric authentication or a device credential. Authentication is handled by the operating system; MiraFolio receives only a success or failure result and never sees biometric data. The Windows version does not currently provide the mobile Private Album feature.

7. iCloud Sync on Apple Platforms (Optional)

If you enable iCloud sync, Private Album photos and related metadata are stored in your own private CloudKit database associated with your Apple Account. We cannot access that database. Apple's handling of the data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. Android and Windows do not provide MiraFolio cloud sync.

8. AI Tagging on Mobile (Optional)

AI tagging is off by default and works only after you configure an OpenAI-compatible endpoint, model and API key. When you run it, downscaled copies of selected photos are sent directly from your device to the endpoint you chose. We do not operate or receive those requests. Processing is governed by your provider's terms and privacy policy. API keys are stored locally using the iOS Keychain or Android Keystore-backed encryption.

9. Local Wi-Fi Transfer on Mobile (Optional)

Wi-Fi transfer starts a temporary web server on your device so a computer browser on the same local network can send images directly to it. Transfers do not pass through an external MiraFolio server. The local connection uses HTTP and is not end-to-end encrypted; use it only on networks you trust and stop the transfer session when finished.

On Android, the optional Pro NAS/WebDAV source connects directly from your device to the server address you configure. MiraFolio indexes image paths and caches selected images locally for wallpaper rotation; neither the credentials nor images pass through a MiraFolio server. The password is protected with Android Keystore-backed encryption. HTTPS uses the system trust store. If you explicitly choose HTTP, the connection is restricted to private-network addresses but is not encrypted, so devices on the same network may be able to observe credentials and images.

10. Purchases

Optional mobile Pro features are sold through Apple's App Store or Google Play. The applicable store processes payments, renewals, cancellations and refunds; we do not receive payment-card or bank details. The App stores a local entitlement record and uses StoreKit or Google Play Billing to verify access. The free, open-source Windows version does not include mobile Pro purchases.

11. Wallpaper and Automation Features

Apple wallpaper actions run through Apple Shortcuts. Android can use system wallpaper APIs, scheduled background work, a Quick Settings tile, an app shortcut or documented broadcast actions. Windows uses local desktop wallpaper and monitor APIs. These operations run on your device. Mobile analytics can record only the built-in workflow category and success or failure, not the wallpaper, photo content or automation conditions.

12. Data Retention and Deletion

Firebase retains mobile analytics according to our project settings and Google's applicable processes. Because MiraFolio has no account and does not send your name or contact details with analytics events, we generally cannot identify a particular analytics record from an email request.

13. Children's Privacy

MiraFolio is not directed at children under 13, or the equivalent minimum age in a user's jurisdiction, and does not knowingly ask a child for a name, contact information or date of birth.

14. Security

Mobile Private Album content is protected by app sandboxing and optional operating-system authentication. Mobile API keys use platform-protected local storage. Windows settings and indexes stay in the user's local app-data area. No software can guarantee absolute security, so keep important originals backed up and use local transfer only on trusted networks.
